Yesterday, after such a large-scale organization and advertising campaigns, 3 thousand people gathered on Rustaveli Avenue and Salome Zurabishvili administered the parade held by Aleko Elisashvili, - Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said, responding to the event dedicated to Independence Day organized by the "May 26 National Committee" yesterday.
According to him, today the "radical opposition" has neither the resources for radicalization nor for participation in the elections.
"Yesterday, it became clear once again that the radical opposition is completely disintegrated. Yesterday, after such a large-scale organization, after advertising campaigns, 3 thousand people gathered on Rustaveli Avenue and Salome Zurabishvili administered the parade held by Aleko Elisashvili, as we had announced in advance. This is the current reality in the opposition. Therefore, when they talk about early parliamentary elections, in reality, they themselves do not want these elections, because they know that they are absolutely doomed to failure. They are already talking about it publicly. They no longer want what they were demanding, based on the fact that they will lose even more heavily than they lost in October last year. This is the current state of the opposition. It does not matter to anyone, including them or us, whether this radical opposition will participate in the elections or not. Full-fledged local self-government elections will be held in Georgia, and these elections will be even more full-fledged if the radical opposition does not participate in it.
Yesterday, it seems, they still hoped that a few more people would come. However, given that 3 thousand people came, of course, it was difficult for them to say anything valuable. This is the current situation of the radical opposition. They have no resources. They have no resources for radicalization, nor for participation in the elections. Their own bosses brought the representatives of the radical opposition to this point,” Kobakhidze said.
