Lasha Parulava: The government is not only employing a Russian-style regime but also using Kadyrov’s methods – Band formations are now attacking politicians, entering their families’ homes, and have started open terror

This terror is directly linked to Tina Bokuchava’s political activities, her activism, her travels to the regions, and her efforts to convince our party’s regional leaders that we will not participate in local elections, stated Lasha Parulava, a member of “Unity - National Movement,” during an appearance on PalitraNews’ program “Resume,” commenting on party leader Tina Bokuchava’s statement.

According to Lasha Parulava, band formations have formed in the country and are now attacking politicians.

“The party has not stopped. Tina has held meetings in absolutely every city and region, meeting with council members. If anyone needs local elections, it’s us, but Ivanishvili has canceled local elections as an event. This terror is directly tied to her political activities, her activism, her regional travels, and her efforts to convince our party’s regional leaders that we will not participate in local elections. This is precisely linked to her political stance and the political position of the National Movement. We have entered a spiral of struggle where such terror no longer surprises us. There’s no talk of investigations anymore. We see statements from members of an illegitimate parliament that don’t even fit within the bounds of humanity.

In fact, it’s not just a Russian-style regime; the government is using Kadyrov’s methods, operating outside the legal framework. There’s no longer a constitution, no courts, no free business—absolutely everything serves Ivanishvili’s interests. One person has managed to form band formations in the country. These bands are now attacking politicians, entering their families’ homes, and have started open terror. This isn’t the first case. We saw how the ‘Khareba’ squad dealt with Levan Khabeishvili—was anyone punished? No one. Journalists were beaten and bloodied live on air—was anyone punished? No one has been punished. Instead of thinking that this regime will inevitably end tomorrow and they will have to face accountability, that they will have to go through this spiral in a free court and feel ashamed, that their children will feel ashamed, the government continues. We want a country where everyone’s rights are protected and guaranteed,” Parulava stated.

For context, Tina Bokuchava, leader of “Unity National Movement,” stated that her husband, Kote Ioseliani, was ambushed by five masked individuals near their residential building’s entrance, attacked, and abducted. Bokuchava announced this at a briefing, responding to a video recorded by her husband in which he apologizes to Uta Ivanishvili.

According to Bokuchava, the abductors exerted pressure on her husband for eight hours and threatened the safety of their children.

Bokuchava noted that they suspect Kote Ioseliani was held for many hours in the so-called “module building.”

She further stated that the real reason for the incident was to intimidate and silence her.

As a reminder, yesterday Kote Ioseliani released a video apologizing to Bidzina Ivanishvili’s son, Uta Ivanishvili, for statements made about him several years ago.
