This gives us renewed optimism that relations can be reset, and we remain committed to the proposal that we have been talking about for some time - we want a true strategic partnership with the United States, based on the national interests of both nations. So, Tamar Taliashvili, as an ambassador, is the best candidate in this regard and I am glad that she will be Georgia’s representative in the United States,” Papuashvili said.

For information, according to the June 9 decree of the Government of Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze nominated Tamar Taliashvili's candidacy to Mikheil Kavelashvili for appointment to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United States of America.
