Scheduled inspection and testing works will be conducted on the viaduct located at Heroes' Square, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at today’s municipal government meeting.

According to him, this process involves a technical inspection of the viaduct’s structural elements, assessing their durability and functionality.

“Transport policy consists of many important components. Infrastructure development, street renovation, and rehabilitation hold a special place. We also pay attention to the arrangement and replacement of underground utilities. The underground utilities in various neighborhoods and streets are often in poor condition. Therefore, wherever we undertake works, we prioritize their rehabilitation. The safety of bridges is also of particular importance, which is periodically checked by relevant services. The purpose of monitoring is to ensure the safe and proper functioning of transport infrastructure in the capital,” Kaladze stated.

He noted that the inspection and testing works on the Heroes' Square viaduct will begin on June 19 and conclude on July 7.

“Due to the planned works, vehicle traffic on the Heroes' Square viaduct will be completely restricted during nighttime hours (from 02:00 to 06:00) throughout this period, except during daytime hours. Such preventive measures help avoid potential risks,” Kaladze added.
