“Nika Gvaramia, Zura Japaridze, Irakli Okruashvili, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Badri Japaridze did not recognize this system, and they continue not to recognize it — even at the cost of going to prison. Full solidarity with all of them. We must continue the fight with exactly the same determination — non-recognition, non-acceptance, delegitimization, and removal of these people,” said Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” during a briefing.
According to her, “non-recognition of Georgian Dream is our main weapon.”
“Today, the comical autocrats made yet another decision to imprison political opponents. We heard the verdict regarding Mamuka Khazaradze, who will go to prison. Also, Nika Melia’s trial was held, and they will soon decide to arrest him on some absurd charge. Most likely, they’ll make a decision about Badri Japaridze around 5 PM today.
Today, we saw the hysterical statement of Hezbollah’s guest, Irakli Kobakhidze, who said that everyone would be arrested for refusing to recognize the system. Yes, non-recognition is the main weapon. Nika Gvaramia, Zura Japaridze, Irakli Okruashvili, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Badri Japaridze did not recognize this system, and they still don’t — even at the cost of going to prison. That’s why I express full solidarity with all of them. We must continue the fight with exactly the same determination — non-recognition, non-acceptance, delegitimization, and the removal of these people,” said Elene Khoshtaria.
For context, Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” was found guilty by the court of failing to comply with a request from the Parliament’s Temporary Investigative Commission. Judge Zviad Sharadze sentenced him to eight months in prison and barred him from holding office for two years. Earlier today, the verdict was also announced in the case of Zurab “Girchi” Japaridze, another leader of the “Coalition for Change.” He was sentenced to seven months in prison and also banned from holding office for two years for the same offense.
