According to Levan Gogichaishvili, one of the leaders of “For Georgia,” the party’s leader, Giorgi Gakharia, is unlikely to attend the session of the Parliament’s Temporary Investigative Commission on July 2.

As Levan Gogichaishvili stated on PalitraNews’ program “Day’s Newsroom,” Giorgi Gakharia continues to request that he be questioned and asked questions remotely.

Additionally, he referred to the head of the investigative commission, Thea Tsulukiani, as “Thea Chochiev,” adding that Tsulukiani is doing the work of occupiers and separatists.

“On July 2, Giorgi Gakharia is unlikely to be in Tbilisi. I’m not ruling anything out, but I’m saying it’s unlikely. Giorgi Gakharia is requesting to be questioned and asked questions remotely. They shouldn’t be afraid because we won’t cut off the broadcast. If they have the courage, the conditions are equal. When you go there, the conditions are not equal—figuratively speaking, seven Ossetian separatists are attacking you. For me, they are Ossetian separatists, bound to the Russian occupying state, tearing apart our homeland. They are not Georgians to me, none of them, some directly and some indirectly. They are not Georgian people; in this case, they are Ossetian separatists representing the occupation regime, and their commission is led by Thea Chochiev. It’s the Boris Chochiev Commission, which prosecutes its own citizens solely for defending their land and water.

In the Chochiev Commission sit people—I mean Thea Chochiev, I won’t call her Tsulukiani anymore… She is Thea Chochiev, who does the work of occupiers and separatists, carries out Ivanishvili’s dirty orders, and fights Giorgi Gakharia only because this man preserved the village of Chorchana and the territory where Georgians live today, under Georgia’s jurisdiction.

Thea Tsulukiani is Thea Chochiev. She will never escape this stigma for what she is doing. Who is Thea Tsulukiani? Ivanishvili broke her, reduced her to fragments. There was a time when Thea Tsulukiani was progressive, wanting to carry out reforms in the judiciary, fighting against the remnants of the ‘National Movement’ in the courts and the prosecutor’s office. But her nose was broken first in the prosecutor’s office, where she achieved nothing, and then in the judiciary. Now, embittered by her own helplessness, this person has turned spiteful.

The repressive system has opened its jaws, and nothing can dislodge it until this system collapses. This could go on indefinitely. No one is protected in this country. The police, prosecutor’s office, courts, and parliament have gone beyond the legal framework; the constitutional system is broken. There is no balance, only one man’s fiefdom, kingdom, or feudal estate, and this country is currently governed by the whims of these individuals. Literally, what the police are doing today is criminal, and many of them will be held accountable for it,” Gogichaishvili stated.

He explained that Giorgi Gakharia’s presence abroad is “doubly and triply more important” today.

“Whether Giorgi Gakharia comes or not, let the State Security Service and the prosecutor’s office rack their brains over that—that’s my answer. No one will submit to this regime; everyone will fight against it. This process shows that many people are even more ready to confront the regime. The regime, of course, will do everything because there are no limits. They will arrest whoever they want; the country has gone beyond the legal framework, as have the prosecutor’s office, police, and courts. All three of these agencies are directly ‘rigged’ by Bidzina Ivanishvili,” Gogichaishvili stated.

He sees unity as the solution to replacing “Georgian Dream.” In this regard, Levan Gogichaishvili states that the role of Georgia’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili, is significant.

“There needs to be an instrument for unity. Today, the best instrument is a joint mayoral candidate, a joint majoritarian candidate. If other people have better ideas and arguments, we are ready to listen. We will move to a different approach. Today, Salome Zourabichvili’s role will grow even more because, practically, she remains the only leader on the political stage.

I am confident that Salome Zurabishvili will win these elections [if she is the joint mayoral candidate for Tbilisi], even in the pessimistic scenario where no one comes, there are no observers, and some brutal laws are passed. There is always a limit beyond which problems arise,” Gogichaishvili stated.
