Our task is to ensure that the MEGOBARI Act supporting the Georgian people is adopted as quickly as possible and its final phase is completed. It is in this regard that we are holding meetings in Washington with representatives of both chambers, - said Salome Samadashvili, one of the Lelo-Strong Georgia members, who is visiting the US with other party representatives.

As Salome Samadashvili noted, today, in the US, the process of adopting the MEGOBARI Act is actually entering its final phase. According to her, this is a very important legislative initiative that opens up new opportunities for the Georgian people to receive enormous support for Georgian democracy from the US side, as well as new opportunities in strengthening security, trade relations, and more.

“At the same time, this act envisages the activation of new levers of pressure on the Ivanishvili regime, and our task is to ensure that the MEGOBARI Act supporting the Georgian people is adopted as soon as possible, its final phase is completed. It is in this regard that we are holding meetings in Washington with representatives of both chambers, with those people who are directly working on this act. Our task is to provide critically important support for Georgia at this crucial historical moment, when Russia is trying to finally deprive the Georgian people of their democratic future, finally subjugate the Georgian state and, in fact, abolish the sovereignty of our country. The American people, America has always stood by our country for the past 30 years, and we, too, today, have great hope that it is the support of the United States that will be decisive in securing the release of political prisoners, including our leaders, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, who are currently in the regime’s custody, and also in supporting broad democratic changes in our country, which we need to save our state," said Salome Samadashvili.
