“In 2019, both of Salome Zurabishvili’s children were employed with the intervention of the Deep State within a one-month interval. There was a very rapid promotion for both family members,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Adjara Public Broadcaster’s program “Free Space.”
As the Prime Minister noted, after this, Salome Zurabishvili first changed her rhetoric, and by 2021, she “fully revealed her true self.”
“The decision to support Salome Zurabishvili was made by the team in 2018. Initially, Salome Zurabishvili acted independently, or at least it appeared so. In 2019, both of her children were employed with the intervention of the Deep State within a one-month interval. There was a very rapid promotion for both family members, and after that, her rhetoric changed, and by 2021, Salome Zurabishvili fully revealed her true self. The processes began in 2019. In 2020, there was COVID, so there wasn’t as much need for her involvement, and she remained in a passive mode, maintaining the image of an independent politician. However, starting in 2021, when the well-known so-called Michel negotiations began, followed by the agreement and so on—everyone remembers these processes—she completely changed her stance from start to finish, directly following directives from the Deep State, the ‘global war party.’ This became even more pronounced in 2022, when Salome Zurabishvili directly engaged in war rhetoric. During behind-the-scenes meetings, she supported sending volunteer fighters, imposing sanctions, and so on. She was an open supporter of all this,” the Prime Minister stated.
The head of government also responded to a question about why “Georgian Dream” supported Salome Zurabishvili’s candidacy in the elections.
“In reality, about one month remained before the elections when it became clear that her image was facing serious problems for various reasons, including her statements. At that point, it was already very difficult to change the candidacy or support someone else in her place. Naturally, we couldn’t act otherwise, because if we had openly withdrawn support for Salome Zurabishvili, Vashadze would have become president, which we couldn’t allow. It was too late when she started making such damaging statements,” Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
