According to Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of “Lelo – Strong Georgia,” Bidzina Ivanishvili’s “Russian regime” is trying to create an illusion that it seeks to improve relations with Europe, but in reality, its actions are aimed at ensuring Georgia loses all the gains it has already achieved in its relations with the European Union.

She stated that the ruling team uses international visits to convince the public that relations with the West are developing.

“We must understand that today, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Russian regime is taking every step to not only prevent the improvement of our relations with the West but to push Georgia into greater isolation. At the same time, they exploit every opportunity available to them—for example, Kobakhidze’s invitation to Copenhagen—to deceive their voters and continue misleading them, as if this government has a desire to reset relations with the West. However, through their actions, such as increasing the number of political prisoners, repressions, and deepening repressive laws, they are taking every step to ensure Georgia loses all the achievements it has already gained in its relations with the European Union. This is exactly why they are not implementing a single recommendation they receive from the European Union,” stated Salome Samadashvili.
