Elene Khoshtaria releases statement from prison on the "vision for fighting the regime," declaring "there is a path to victory"

Elene Khoshtaria, leader of the "Droa" party, has released a statement from prison outlining her vision for fighting the regime.

As Elene Khoshtaria writes in her letter, there is a path to victory!

Furthermore, according to Khoshtaria, "a peaceful revolution has not failed; it’s simply that its simulation doesn’t work, and we should never attempt it." However, she believes that "a peaceful revolution can absolutely mature," but society should not rely solely on it or remain in a waiting mode.

"In the post-October 4 discussions, I want to share my vision for fighting the regime in more detail.

Today, for understandable reasons, the conversation has focused on two things: 'Neither elections nor a peaceful revolution worked, so what do we do?'

Friends, that’s not how the issue stands. There is a path to victory! First of all, a peaceful revolution has not failed; it’s just that its simulation doesn’t work, and we should never try it. A peaceful revolution can absolutely mature, but we should not rely solely on it, nor should we be in a waiting mode.

First and foremost, let’s assess the nature of the regime to formulate the right directions for confronting it. This regime has many qualitatively new characteristics compared to a classic dictatorship:

The regime relies on an external force, with Russia being a significant source of its viability. Therefore, the geopolitical factor and international engagement are crucial.

Propaganda, as a powerful weapon, constantly manages to tarnish the pro-Western flank, deepen the trust deficit, manipulate people’s fears, and promote fragmentation (this is an entirely new weapon).

Formal and informal pillars on which the oligarchy stands. First and foremost, this is the unaccountable Bidzina himself. At certain moments, the organizer of 'titushky' (hired thugs) may be more powerful than a police officer. A propaganda organizer may be more influential than some minister. Bidzina’s business circle may be more powerful than the Minister of Economy. The State Security Service is not [Mamuka] Mdinaradze (a rather limited figure) but Russia. What I mean is that we must not only wrest the hijacked institutions from the oligarch’s hands but also weaken his informal pillars.

Unlimited financial resources under one vertical—this aids in buying people, creating fake experts, rigging elections, and so on.

Accordingly, our struggle must aim to neutralize all the oligarchic pillars. Let’s break it down point by point:

Geopolitical landscape: It’s turbulent, but Russia is weakening in the region. The people, the political spectrum, and the legitimate president have managed to keep us on the international radar. It’s a critically important achievement that, so far, Georgia is not perceived as Bidzina Ivanishvili. However, we want more. Our tasks are: To accelerate the development of an action plan for Georgia, with concrete steps; To expedite and direct sanctions at the right targets; To assist us in combating propaganda.

Countering propaganda: We must oppose it with: Moral superiority; A coordinated, offensive information policy; Highlighting a political alternative (this will increase people’s motivation and hope); Western support.

Neutralizing the pillars: Non-cooperation—political, social, and international isolation of the regime. This 'strangulation' must hinder their functioning and make their minions fear that they will lose more from this pressure than they gain from Bidzina. Unified public protest: strengthening Rustaveli Avenue; large-scale rallies; targeted protests.

Financial resources will be neutralized by sanctions (I wrote about this in the first point).

We are doing some of this, but not all of it—or we can’t. Imagine if at least 70% of this were implemented; their defeat would be inevitable.

All of this requires: Resilience (what can Ukrainians say about that?!); Political and socio-political coordination; Sincere motivation, not just working for one’s own platform or ego.

P.S. From my cell, it is particularly disheartening, both humanly and politically, to hear about 'Lelo’s' aggression and stubbornness.

Let’s focus on the task and address the people.

To the end!"—writes Khoshtaria in her letter.

Ambassador of Korea Hyon Du KIM - Korea’s strength lies in high-tech manufacturing while Georgia’s strength is in logistics and service areas - Georgia should not be just considered as a single market but as a market that can encompass the region and beyond
Oleksii Reznikov - Russia, in reality, is a paper tiger
