Ivanishvili’s attempt to get the West to acknowledge and condemn an alleged violent coup scenario on October 4 will not yield results. For a simple reason: in the West, no one cares where a self-proclaimed president is attacked, wrote Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of “Strong Georgia - Lelo,” on social media.
According to Samadashvili, “Georgian Dream” will use this situation to declare the West an enemy.
“While an informational civil war rages in the camp of Ivanishvili’s opponents, preparations for the final phase of Georgia’s Belarusization are moving forward rapidly. Let’s calmly, without searching for ‘guilt,’ describe where Georgia stands today.
It is a fact that Russia has disarmed the citizen as a voter. A large part of Georgia’s electorate has been convinced that under ‘Georgian Dream’ conditions, participating in elections is pointless. On this battlefield, the opponent - Georgia’s electorate, which does not support Russia—has been, if not completely neutralized, significantly weakened. After the boycott, bringing voters back to the elections, unless something fundamentally changes, will be extremely difficult.
On October 4, Russia saw that despite the many people who do not accept Russian occupation, only peaceful means of struggle are acceptable to them. In other words, Russia knows that as long as armed men protect the regime, it remains secure. Ivanishvili’s attempt to get the West to acknowledge and condemn a violent coup scenario on October 4 will not yield results. For a simple reason: in the West, no one cares where a self-proclaimed president is attacked. For the West, dignity lies in democracy, not in ‘mustaches.’
How do you think the regime will use this situation? To officially declare the West an enemy and further consolidate autocracy. Therefore, the only question anyone should ask themselves and others, from today until victory, is: How can the vast majority of Georgians defeat the Russian autocracy and its servant regime? If we don’t quickly shift to thinking about the future - not the distant future, but what we do tomorrow and the day after - the majority, stripped of the ‘European morsel’ from their mouths, will be forced to submit to Russia and its allied minority in Georgia,” writes Salome Samadashvili.
