Salome Samadashvili: "Georgian Dream's" next step will be recognizing the occupied territories' independent status, which is not a thought cooked up in Kobakhidze's and Ivanishvili's heads; they have orders, because Russia is preparing for border demarcation

According to Salome Samadashvili, the political secretary of "Lelo for Strong Georgia," the constitutional lawsuit by "Georgian Dream" to ban three opposition parties represents a fascist attitude and violates citizens' political rights.

Speaking on PalitraNews's program "Free Studio" via a live broadcast from Brussels, Samadashvili stated that by banning "Lelo," they are telling 200,000 people who voted for the party in the parliamentary elections that their votes do not count and that they do not have the right to make a political choice.

The opposition politician declared that they will continue their fight through legal means, planning to appeal to the Constitutional Court and, if necessary, take the case to Strasbourg.

"'Georgian Dream' is excluding us from the political process with a fascist attitude. By banning 'Lelo,' they are not banning me, Mamuka Khazaradze, or Badri Japaridze - they are telling the 200,000 people who voted for us in the parliamentary elections that their voice has no weight in governing the country, that they are not full-fledged citizens, and that they have no right to make a political choice. This is precisely why this is a disgusting act. For me, this is a fascist attitude toward their own fellow citizens. That is why we will appeal and will definitely go all the way to Strasbourg. You would struggle to find a country on the world map where one person has seized all state institutions," Samadashvili stated.

The politician believes that "Georgian Dream's" next step will be to prepare for recognizing the independent status of Georgia's occupied territories.

According to Samadashvili, these decisions are not the independent initiatives of the ruling party but rather the execution of specific orders, which, in her assessment, are linked to Georgia losing its ability to discuss the country's territorial integrity and to the collapse of the non-recognition policy.

"'Georgian Dream's' next step will be the recognition of the independent status of Georgia's occupied territories - (the creation of a treacherous commission, the drafting of a conclusion, which the commission prepared, will serve as the basis for banning parties) - this is the foundation for us to lose all possibilities, including on the international stage; this is preparation for dismantling the non-recognition policy. In parallel, Russia is preparing for border demarcation. Today, Kobakhidze and Bidzina Ivanishvili are carrying out Russia's orders. This is not an idea cooked up in Kobakhidze's or Ivanishvili's heads; they have specific orders that must be fulfilled. The next order is to lay the groundwork for us to lose all international legal bases, to lose discussions about our country's territorial integrity, and for the policy of recognizing independent status to collapse," Samadashvili stated.
