Prosecutor General's Office to file petition with court to use bail towards Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze

The Prosecutor General's Office will file a petition with the court to use bail to towards Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, the leaders of Lelo, as a preventive measure. The relevant statement was made by Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze at the briefing held at the Prosecutor's Office.

"The Prosecutor's Office will file a petition with the court to use bail towards Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, and to set a date for the pre-trial hearing for the other defendants within the time limits specified by law," Gvarakidze noted.

The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated criminal proceedings against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.

The case concerns crimes committed against the state, namely: sabotage, assistance in hostile activities to a foreign country, financing activities directed against the constitutional order of Georgia and the foundations of national security, and calling for the violent change of the constitutional order of Georgia or the overthrow of the state government.
