Tina Bokuchava: Ivanishvili is going to establish a dictatorship in the country, the only thing he fears is our unity and our only response should be struggle

[The initiation of criminal prosecution against opposition politicians] is proof that Ivanishvili intends to establish a dictatorship in the country, - this is how the chairwoman of the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, assessed the initiation of criminal prosecution against opposition politicians by the Prosecutor's Office.

As Bokuchava stated at the briefing, the only thing Ivanishvili's regime fears is unity.

“Today, the regime declared that criticism of the regime, including criticism by foreign partners, any meeting, scheduled visit abroad, expression of opinion and, in fact, defense of the national interests of our country and the citizens of Georgia is a crime and is punishable by imprisonment by Ivanishvili’s Russian, occupation regime. This is proof that Ivanishvili intends to establish a dictatorship in the country, where not only political parties will be banned, but also any free expression of opinion will be banned, where not only political parties will be abolished, but also educational institutions in the form of universities will be abolished, free media, civil sector will be abolished, and Georgia will be abolished as an independent, sovereign, free state. This is the future that Ivanishvili’s regime is promising our country.

The second thing that today’s briefing really showed is that Ivanishvili’s regime is afraid of only one thing - this is our unity,” said Bokuchava.

According to her, people are being left in prison only because it is not possible to have broad political unity to defeat the regime.

“President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is the main opponent and the main political threat to Ivanishvili’s occupation regime, will remain in illegal captivity for several more years because of his Facebook posts. This is the phase of absurdity that the dictatorship has entered, and our only response should be struggle,” Bokuchava said.

According to her, the National Movement will not be afraid of anything and will continue to fight inside and outside the country to remove this government.

“Let’s fight while we have the opportunity. “Before it’s too late,” as Mzia Amaglobeli said, because Zura Japaridze said: “Victory will definitely be ours.” In the end, we will win. "For this, unity is necessary, and the United National Movement will spare no effort for this broad political unity," Bokuchava said.
