Even by Georgian Dream standards, the regime’s new politically motivated charges against opposition leaders are appalling, writes U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson on the social platform X.

“This sick behavior mirrors the tactics of their patrons in Moscow and Beijing. The anti-American Georgian Dream regime is betraying its people in favor of Moscow, Tehran and Beijing,” Wilson declares.

Reminder: the Prosecutor General’s Office has launched criminal prosecution against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the case concerns crimes against the state, namely: sabotage, assisting a foreign state in hostile activities, financing activities directed against Georgia’s constitutional order and the foundations of national security, and calls for violent change of the constitutional order or overthrow of the government.
