Elene Khoshtaria: The so-called charge filed by the Prosecutor’s Office is exactly the case that I will be proud of for the rest of my life - I am proud that I had a modest contribution to the sanctioning of the "Russian Dream"

The so-called charge filed by the Prosecutor’s Office is exactly the case that I will be proud of for the rest of my life - I am proud that I had a modest contribution to the sanctioning of the "Russian Dream", - Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, writes in a letter sent from prison, which was posted on her social network.

According to her, "at the cost of self-sacrifice, in just 3 weeks, the Rustaveli protest turned the last repressive law into ashes."

“I have rarely felt proud under the Russian regime, shame and remorse are my frequent companions. However, the so-called accusation of the Prosecutor’s Office is precisely the case that I will be proud of for the rest of my life. I am proud that a few weeks after Russia’s attack on Ukraine, I went to the Ukrainian border and then, during the war, I was repeatedly in Kyiv and Bucha. I am proud that, together with my comrades, I helped the homeless elderly and children who fled Ukraine. I am proud of my modest contribution to the sanctioning of the “Russian Dream”. This, to some extent, is compensation for the shame that all decent people experience because of the treacherous policy of the Dream.

I believe that we will all wipe this shame away together and leave it on the nightmarish page of history.

We see how, at the cost of their own sacrifice, in just 3 weeks, the Rustaveli protest turned the last repressive law into ashes. This is a very important victory. It deprives the regime of power, deprives it of repressive instruments, and shows how strong, righteous, and united the people are. The deployment of the police means the failure of the law. And the marches are a new puzzle for the Dream. Until the end!” - writes Khoshtaria.

The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated new criminal proceedings against Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the case concerns crimes committed against the state, namely: sabotage, assistance in hostile activities to a foreign country, financing activities directed against the constitutional order of Georgia and the foundations of national security, and calling for the violent change of the constitutional order of Georgia or the overthrow of the state government.
