Police arrest nanny for violence against a minor

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested a nanny in Tbilisi for violence against a minor.

The information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Employees of the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested N.K., born in 1962, on charges of committing violence against a minor.

The crime is punishable by up to 2 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the defendant, who worked as a nanny in one of the families in Tbilisi, physically abused a minor born in 2024. Footage of the incident was recorded by a video camera installed in the family's home. As a result of an immediate police response, N.K. was detained as a suspect.

The investigation is underway regarding the fact of violence committed against a minor, under subparagraph 'a' of part 1¹ of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," — the statement says.
