Special Penitentiary Service: Heating system is functioning properly in all penitentiary institutions

All penitentiary institutions have a heating system that is functioning properly, reads the statement issued by the Special Penitentiary Service.
The Penitentiary Service explains that there is no problem with the heating.
“The Special Penitentiary Service responds to the story broadcast on TV Pirveli, which aims to provide the public with information that is inconsistent with reality regarding the situation in penitentiary institutions.
First of all, the Special Penitentiary Service explains that, as of today, all penitentiary institutions have a heating system that is functioning properly and there are no problems with it.
In addition, regarding the information spread by the letter of convict Rezo Kiknadze, as if convict Irakli Nadiradze had become unwell in his cell, we would like to clarify that medical services are available 24 hours a day in any penitentiary institution; convict Irakli Nadiradze did not contact the medical staff about being unwell and, accordingly, no such fact was recorded, which is another false information spread by the aforementioned TV company, which aims to mislead the public.
We would like to additionally note that each accused/convict placed in all penitentiary institutions shall be provided with medical services in accordance with the requirements for medical services established in the country in the field of health care, and if the treatment of the accused/convict in the medical unit of the institution of imprisonment/deprivation of liberty is impossible, he/she may be transferred to a medical institution for accused and convicted persons or a civil sector hospital.
The Special Penitentiary Service calls on everyone, including accused and convicted persons, to refrain from spreading incorrect information aimed at discrediting the service and providing false information to the public,” reads the statement.
