“Exactly one year has passed since the constitutional coup, and I would describe this one year like this: Bidzina Ivanishvili has declared war on everyone — on the Georgian people,” said Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the United National Movement, on PalitraNews’ program “Free Studio.”
According to Dekanoidze, Irakli Kobakhidze will not be able to “fix relations” with the West for Bidzina Ivanishvili, because, in her words, Ivanishvili is an unacceptable and unreliable partner for everyone.
“I am not saying this out of false pathos, but there are still people in this country who will not give up. I still do not believe that Georgian Dream is doing well or has completed its monopolization of power. Yes, they control the police, there are corruption schemes, but the task that Bidzina Ivanishvili assigned to Irakli Kobakhidze was to grant legitimacy specifically to Bidzina Ivanishvili. In other words, Bidzina Ivanishvili is telling the West: ‘Accept me as I am.’ Kobakhidze will not be able to arrange this because Bidzina Ivanishvili is an unacceptable and unreliable partner for everyone.
Exactly a year has passed since the constitutional coup, and I would describe this year like this — Bidzina Ivanishvili has declared war on everyone, on the Georgian people. They say they want peace, but where is peace? In which peace initiative did Bidzina Ivanishvili or Georgian Dream take part? In which peace project have they been involved? The only thing they talk about is the Eagle Hills project, and I am convinced that they want to bring in Ivanishvili’s laundered money through it — they talk about it with such hysteria. They’re banging their heads against the wall to ensure this project is implemented, they’re already selling air, and we still don’t understand what investments this company is coming with.
That is why it is important that tomorrow’s rally shows the regime — and many people in Georgia — that we have not gone anywhere. We are here, and as long as at least one person continues to protest all of this, Georgia will be where resistance to the regime is necessary,” Dekanoidze said.
