According to him, after leaving the position of Public Defender, Nino Lomjaria created an NGO, which immediately received millions of laris in funding from Brussels.

“This person, while serving as the Public Defender, prepared a false report regarding Saakashvili’s health, in which she requested a postponement of his sentence and even saw the possibility of his complete release from prison.

It was her false report that Brussels used as an excuse when it sent the EU Ambassador to the Minister of Justice and demanded that Saakashvili be handed over to them.

After leaving the post of Public Defender, Nino Lomjaria created an NGO that immediately received millions of laris in funding from Brussels, spent this money on election campaigning in violation of the law, and has now made false assessments regarding the 2024 elections.

"It is precisely such facts that strengthen the suspicion that EU grants are being issued with corrupt interests and that the fear of exposing political and financial corruption is the main reason behind such opposition to the transparency law from Brussels," Shalva Papuashvili writes.
