It is impossible for such a treacherous enemy as the “Russian-Dream” regime allied with Vladimir Putin in the form of Ivanishvili’s regime to be defeated by a divided, fragmented, and mutually opposing opposition spectrum, said Tina Bokuchava, the chairwoman of the National Movement, responding to the statement made by the third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, during the trial on the necessity of unity of opposition parties.
Bokuchava agrees with Saakashvili and believes that the only and real chance for Georgia’s survival lies in the unification of democratic political forces.
“It is impossible for such a treacherous enemy as the “Russian-Dream” regime allied with Vladimir Putin in the form of Ivanishvili’s regime to be defeated by a divided, fragmented, and mutually opposing opposition spectrum.
It is necessary to unite democratic political forces. We will do everything to make this happen, to save our country and return it to the path of normal, peaceful development.
Of course, there are no [red lines] for the National Movement, we have been saying this for a long time,” Bokuchava noted.
In addition to the aforementioned topic, Bokuchava also assessed the statement made by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the Davos forum. As Bokuchava noted, “under this regime, Georgia is in danger of becoming a geographical dead end.”
“Georgia has always been represented very honorably in Davos when it had a worthy, national government. Today, in the form of a “Russian-Dream” regime, we have a gang of Russian occupation puppet criminals, who cannot represent Georgia anywhere except in Ashgabat, next to Vladimir Putin. Unfortunately, this is precisely why all the economic agreements, opportunities, chances for prosperity that are made in Davos, Washington or Brussels, are made without Georgia. We must take back these opportunities, we must take back Georgia, its bright future, and we will be able to do this through unity. I have been saying for a long time that under the regime, Georgia was in danger of becoming a geographical dead end, and not a major transit, geopolitical and strategic, economic and trade hub,” Bokuchava noted.
As a reminder, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated at a panel session held in Davos within the framework of the World Economic Forum that he had received a request from the Armenian side regarding the possibility of transit from Armenia to Russia. According to him, currently transportation is carried out through Georgia, however, the time is not far off when transit will take place directly from Armenia through Azerbaijan.
As for the unity of the opposition parties, the third President Mikheil Saakashvili stated at the trial: “Today, talking about whether we should be united or not is completely unnecessary. We should be together. Anyone who is still happy that my party received a small percentage of votes has not understood anything at all and has no political future... The only chance is for all parties to unite."
