Giorgi Sharashidze, MP from the party “Gakharia for Georgia,” stated to journalists that Giorgi Gakharia’s only real opponent is Bidzina Ivanishvili. Sharashidze emphasized that if Gakharia refuses to debate with Irakli Kobakhidze, it is obvious to everyone.

Sharashidze noted that discussions about Gakharia participating in debates are still premature, but the party has long called for debates with him, showing that the main figures from whom people do not want to hear the truth are first and foremost Gakharia himself.

He added that his party is ready to participate in debates under any circumstances, even though he does not expect members of “Georgian Dream” to actually sit down for the debates.

“They will do everything to make the debate format comfortable for themselves - their TV channels, their experts, their satellite opposition. Naturally, ‘Georgian Dream’ will try to prevent the real responsible speakers, like Kobakhidze or Kaladze, from appearing, and instead send secondary figures. Nevertheless, it is important for us to participate, to tell the truth on their turf, and show the public that all their propaganda is based on lies, slander, and fairy tales. I do not expect them to join the debates because if anyone is afraid of ‘Georgian Dream’ today, it is Gakharia and his team. Regardless, we are expressing our readiness for the debates,” Sharashidze said.
