Giorgi Vashadze - My name, surname and 15-year sentence are written in the case materials, there is nothing, not even falsified evidence - they are asking for 30,000 GEL as bail, I will pay it

According to one of the leaders of the Strategy Builder, Giorgi Vashadze, there is no evidence in the case filed against him and the materials only indicate his name, surname and the article of the 15-year sentence.

Vashadze made the corresponding statement regarding the scheduling of his trial in the so-called sabotage case.

As Vashadze told the media before the start of the trial in the city court, he is ready to pay bail.

“When I came out of prison, I said that the case is a blank sheet, only a name and surname and a 15-year sentence. The right thing is that such cases should not exist in the prosecutor's office of a legal state. There is nothing in the case, there is no evidence in the case. I was expecting a preventive measure, by the way, I called Zura (Girchi-Japaridze) and asked what time he was summoned. He said at 15:00.

I know that they are asking for 30,000 GEL as bail. I have no information about the rest. I will go in and find out.

Nothing is written in the case materials. My name and surname are written and a 15-year sentence is written. It is not written, there is nothing about me in the case. There is no falsified evidence either. I was surprised to tell you the truth. This serves to stop our striving for freedom, for the normal development of Georgia. We have a common position on this - we cannot do this, we love our homeland, we understand what process we are in. We want the confrontations in this country to end, and it will end when there is justice. Justice is when there is some process that the public has confidence in.

Of course, I will pay bail. I also paid bail in the previous case,” Vashadze said.

On November 6, 2025, the Prosecutor General's Office initiated criminal proceedings against the leaders of various opposition parties - Mikheil Saakashvili, Giorgi Vashadze, Nika Gvaramia, Nika Melia, Zurab Japaridze, Elene Khoshtaria, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.

An investigation has been initiated against Giorgi Vashadze under the articles of sabotage (Article 318, Part 1 - 2 to 4 years of imprisonment) and assistance in hostile activities to a foreign country (Article 319 - 7 to 15 years of imprisonment).

Giorgi Vashadze left prison on January 23. The 7-month prison term imposed on him by the court has expired. The case concerned his refusal to cooperate with the investigative commission established in parliament.
