State Security Service does not confirm information that Mamuka Mdinaradze is in the United States

The State Security Service (SSG) has not confirmed reports that its head, Mamuka Mdinaradze, is currently in the United States.

According to the SSG press service, Mdinaradze is in Tbilisi.

“He is in Tbilisi, at work,” the SSG stated.

For context, Giorgi Sharashidze, one of the leaders of the party “Gakharia for Georgia”, claimed on the PalitraNews’ program “Day’s Newsroom” that Bidzina Ivanishvili had sent Mamuka Mdinaradze to the U.S. as a “envoy.”

“I have exclusive information: Ivanishvili has sent another envoy to the U.S. in the person of Mamuka Mdinaradze - what is Mdinaradze supposed to do there? Is the U.S. the kind of country where matters are handled this way? Does he think it’s Russia or Moscow?” Sharashidze stated.
