Shalva Papuashvili - International platforms are increasingly being used as political instruments and weapons - the US administration is also saying this

You said - if it weren't for serious cases, the OSCE wouldn't have activated the "Moscow Mechanism" - unfortunately, it would have happened! In order to pursue a political agenda against various countries, various international platforms are being politically instrumentalized! - This statement was made by the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, at a session of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, where he answered the question of MP Giorgi Sharashidze about the activation of the "Moscow Mechanism" by the OSCE regarding Georgia.

According to Papuashvili, the activation of the "Moscow Mechanism" does not a priori mean that there is an objective basis for this. According to him, "we are seeing orchestrated behavior against Georgia."

“International platforms are increasingly being used as political instruments and weapons. By the way, this is not just what we said. The US administration is already saying this today, which has left several organizations.

Our observation for the last few years is this - as a rule, these platforms have the same people. Be it PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) or the OSCE, they are the same people, because they are parliamentary delegations. Therefore, in the European Parliament, in PACE, in the OSCE - there are orchestrated processes everywhere.

A few years ago, PACE adopted a resolution in which Mikheil Saakashvili was called a political prisoner along with Kara Murza, which, of course, is an absolute lie and a falsity. It is a shame when such a platform spreads disinformation.

Although we do not have a say in the European Parliament, this is the body with which we cooperate due to our status and we remember a number of resolutions that contain, to put it mildly, untruths.

Since the war in Ukraine began and Georgia became the target of direct attacks, our delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has had to fight every time to bring out the truth that concerns various issues. There are also familiar faces from both European and American parliamentary life.

What we see on the screens, in the form of comments by various Europeans and Americans - especially "supportive" people of Georgia, is then reflected at OSCE assemblies and other such meetings.

Our main strength is the truth. If anyone is interested in objective truth and honesty, it is very easy to find it. Anyone who uses such mechanisms to find the truth, is certainly welcome," said Shalva Papuashvili.
