Our population asks us what is wrong, what has happened to Germany that its ambassador is trying to undermine Georgian democracy - the German Foreign Ministry website still lists Salome Zurabishvili as the president and Ilia Darchiashvili as the foreign minister - at least let us know about the [German Foreign Ministry]'s "IT guy", maybe he is a Georgian "IT guy" from the National Movement and that's why he's trying to harm Georgia. I personally expect an answer to this, - said the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
According to him, the question of why the German Foreign Ministry website lists Salome Zurabishvili as the president of Georgia and Ilia Darchiashvili as the foreign minister can easily be answered by the German ambassador, "who keeps entertaining us with his political statements and political interviews."
“Among them, in the last interview, we saw that he was quite falsely, in my opinion, expressing concern that relations between Georgia and Germany have deteriorated and trying to blame the Georgian government for this. I have the data here, this is official data taken from the German Foreign Ministry, it has brief information about every country, the president, the prime minister, the foreign minister. [The information] has not been updated about Georgia since October 2024, that is, after the elections, even though the data for any country is updated every 6 months by default. In the case of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili is still listed as the president and Ilia Darchiashvili as the foreign minister. Who does the German ambassador communicate with? When he was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, who did he go to? Did he see Ilia Darchiashvili there, in the offices or in the corridor? This is shameful, what we see, and of course, this is not the fault of any web administrator and the German ambassador has the opportunity to correct me if this is not so," Papuashvili said.
He listed the countries the data of which is updated on the German Foreign Ministry website. According to Papuashvili, these are Russia, Syria, Iran, etc.
