As the Prime Minister notes, changing the externally supported criminal regime required exceptional wisdom and intellect. He adds that in 2011 no one believed that regime change through elections was possible under conditions of complete trampling of democracy and the rule of law; however, according to the Prime Minister, “what everyone considered impossible, Bidzina Ivanishvili made possible through grandmaster-level calculations and moves.”

His role in the recent history of our country is irreplaceable. At an exceptionally difficult time for Georgia, when democracy, the rule of law, human dignity, business freedom, property rights, media freedom, and other supreme values were trampled underfoot, when a government controlled from outside constantly threatened the country’s security, Bidzina Ivanishvili brought about a turning point in the life of the country and the state. Democracy and the rule of law were established in Georgia; business freedom and media pluralism were restored; for the first time since the restoration of independence, a government came to power under which the country experienced no war; the country’s economy and budget quadrupled; Georgia regained its independence and state sovereignty.

In 2012, at enormous personal risk under a criminal regime, a man who had a great deal to lose brought about a turning point in the country’s life. He set aside his own personal security and well-being and, in the literal sense, sacrificed himself to save Georgia from the criminal rule of foreign agents. Only a person with exceptional love for his homeland could take such a step.

Along with patriotism, changing the externally supported criminal regime required exceptional wisdom and intellect. However, what everyone considered impossible, Bidzina Ivanishvili made possible through grandmaster-level calculations and moves.

Exactly the same exceptional love for the country and wisdom were required to save Georgia after 2022 from the kind of development of events that created existential problems for Ukraine. In this case too, confronting the enormous pressure and blackmail directed against our country and personally against Bidzina Ivanishvili required, on the one hand, exceptional love for the homeland and self-sacrifice for it, and on the other hand, exceptional wisdom and intellect. Bidzina Ivanishvili has established in Georgian politics a culture of doing things patiently, the lack of which has caused our country countless mistakes since the restoration of independence.
