Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, together with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani and the head of LLC "Tbilisi Service Group" Giorgi Papava, posted a video address on the social network Facebook in response to information about worsening weather conditions.
According to him, Tbilisi is prepared for the expected snowfall.
"Tonight, heavy precipitation is forecast in the capital and its adjacent territories. All relevant municipal services are on standby; the necessary work will be carried out with appropriate equipment to clear the roads. I would like to thank the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their cooperation. We had good cooperation with them during the previous heavy snowfall. We received operational data, and the patrol police assisted us in ensuring road safety. In case of necessity, there is a hotline you can call, and we will do everything possible to resolve any existing problems," — stated Kakha Kaladze.
According to the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi, all relevant services are mobilized to prevent any problems with traffic on the roads.
"In accordance with your instructions, all relevant municipal services, as well as all district administrations, have been switched to 24-hour mode. We have maximum mobilization in all directions, and wherever there is a potential delay in public transport movement, we will resolve it operationally. In addition, we are in constant communication with all relevant services, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to receive operational information about where there might be delays or problems. We will address any type of challenge as much as possible and try to ensure there are no problems anywhere," — stated Irakli Bendeliani.
According to the head of "Tbilisi Service Group," Giorgi Papava, special equipment is ready, and there is fully sufficient technical salt to enable the municipality to cope with the precipitation.
"Technically, everything is fully prepared and mobilized wherever salt-spreading bases are located. Our employees have been switched to 24-hour mode. Heavy equipment and technical salt are fully sufficient to cope with any type of precipitation. In addition, 200 employees are involved to carry out patrols with light vehicles throughout Tbilisi, including adjacent territories, in case of precipitation, icing of roads, or any other type of problem," — noted Giorgi Papava.
