Shalva Papuashvili - When they talk to us, the President of Ukraine should lower his tone - we will not accept and will not tolerate even a single reprimand from Zelensky

The Ukrainian government should not talk to us in the tone they speak to Germany and France - when they talk to us, I think the Ukrainian president should tone down, - said the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.

According to him, Ukraine should have complaints towards the countries responsible for global security, including Western European countries, and they should be careful when choosing words and actions towards Georgia.

"We have our historical experience, and among them, the Ukrainian government should not speak to us in a tone of complaints. The Ukrainian government itself should understand this. If the Ukrainian government expects everyone to weigh their words towards them, we also expect everyone, including the Ukrainian government, to weigh every word and decision regarding Georgia and the Georgian people. We are neither Germany nor any Western European country to which Ukraine can make fair complaints, because if the great countries, Western Europe and the European Union, had acted properly, this war would not have happened, and, of course, Ukraine should make complaints to these people, because it is primarily the responsibility of global powers and countries responsible for global security that this war started. The US President has repeatedly said that if he had been in power, this war would not have happened and this is a war that should never have started. Therefore, their complaints towards Western Europe are understandable, but let them choose another tone for the Georgian people. We won't accept this tone from the Ukrainian government. We won't accept it in general, and we won't accept a single reproach from Zelensky in particular, and we won't tolerate any reproach like that. We were also in the war and have we ever reprimanded anyone or made any claims? Being in the war requires more responsibility and it must be carried out with dignity. When Georgia is accused of torturing Saakashvili, this is an undignified act. The talk was that when we supported the resolution in the UN, it was a sign of decency and why should they thank us for that. First of all, you should thank everyone, nothing should be taken for granted, and they should look at the list, who supported it, who abstained, who didn't support it, and then talk to us, and secondly, for the past several years, Ukrainian delegations have been supporting all hostile decisions against the Georgian people in various formats. Is this gratitude? Is this how you should treat a friend? When they talks to us, I think the Ukrainian president should tone down his tone,” Papuashvili said.

For information, yesterday, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stepanchuk responded, in the Georgian language, to the statements made by Shalva Papuashvili and noted that “supporting” the UN resolution, which concerns the territorial integrity of Ukraine, is definitely not charity or heroism, but the minimum level of elementary decency.

According to Stepanchuk, those who constantly reproach Ukraine for “ingratitude” are actually covering up their own loss of dignity and instead showing poor obedience.
