Giorgi Sharashidze: If the need and moment arise, "Lelo" remains the political force with which we can consider cooperation again

If the need and moment arise, when the issue of certain cooperation will need to be decided, of course, "For Georgia" remains the political force with which we can consider cooperation again, — this was stated by Giorgi Sharashidze, one of the leaders of the party "For Georgia," to journalists.

According to Sharashidze, his party has shown a good example of cooperation with "Lelo," while the flank with which "For Georgia" will not unite is the "National Movement" flank — this is their party's unequivocal position.

"Our action plan is well known to citizens. We have our independent tactics and strategy. We know how to fight against the autocratic regime of 'Dream,' and you can clearly see our team's active work not only in parliament, but beyond it as well. As for discussions about uniting parts of the opposition, I don't know whether the once multi-fractured 'National Movement' will unite again — that is their internal party matter, and we do not view it as a special event. If we are talking about that flank, i.e., the 'National Movement' flank, for us this is a 'red line' and there will be no unification with them whatsoever. Especially after we saw the irresponsibility that occurred on October 4, which did not strengthen the opposition; on the contrary, it strengthened 'Dream' and gave it a certain legitimacy to justify how much non-peaceful and violent processes are taking place in the country. These parties have not taken responsibility for this. They have not apologized to the dozens of detained people, and we have heard no explanation or justification at all. After this, we do not intend to talk about any unification with these parties. This is an unequivocal position, very clear, and we can put a period here.

As you know, we have shown quite a good example of cooperation with 'Lelo,' when two opposition parties excluded competition between each other when the cause required it. Accordingly, if the need arises — I repeat, if the moment comes when the issue of certain cooperation needs to be decided — of course, 'Lelo' remains for us the political force with which we can again consider cooperation," — stated Giorgi Sharashidze.
