“Koka Morgoshia stated that he has his own personal interest, his own personal crossings and conflicts with Otar Partskhaladze,” said Shorena Nikabadze, lawyer for the Mikadze brothers accused of organizing the murder of Levan Jangveladze, to journalists.
According to her, Koka Morgoshia spoke a lot today in the free narrative part about circumstances, but he did not give concrete answers to questions.
“Koka Morgoshia spoke today in court about motives. In this statement he said that he has his own personal interest, his own personal crossings and conflicts with Otar Partskhaladze, which is why we, the defense side, have the impression that the explanations he gave in court represent exactly his steps taken as a result of this conflict and have no real connection to the materials of the criminal case.
Koka Morgoshia spoke a lot today in the free narrative part about circumstances, but the moment a question was asked about who could confirm what he said — a neutral, objective witness — his answer was that he either doesn’t remember, doesn’t know, or doesn’t want to make any explanation about it, which naturally makes his testimony unreliable. Because on the one hand he refers to the deceased Levan Jangveladze, with whom, unfortunately, these circumstances naturally cannot be verified, and on the other hand he speaks about such people whose identity is not known either to the investigation or to us today,” Shorena Nikabadze stated.
For information: The investigation accuses Giorgi and Davit Mikadze, as well as Giorgi Jokhadze, of organizing the murder of Levan Jangveladze on commission. For the premeditated murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze on commission and for remuneration, as well as for the attempted murder of Gia Chaduneli, Gela Udziulauri has been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Within the framework of the same case, the former Prosecutor General, Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze, is also charged. He has been indicted under Article 25/109, subparagraph “n” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to organizing premeditated murder on commission and for remuneration.
