As the statement reads, only a government that knows that it lacks political legitimacy takes such steps, "because it has betrayed Georgia's national interests, independence, sovereignty and constitution."

“Yesterday, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s parliament passed another repressive law in its third reading, threatening Georgian citizens with criminal prosecution for considering the regime illegitimate.

Such steps are taken only by a government that knows that it lacks political legitimacy, because it has betrayed Georgia’s national interests, independence, sovereignty, and constitution.

Such draconian laws are needed to neutralize the just reaction of society to treacherous policies, which one after another abolish the fundamental rights of citizens.

However, at the same time, the regime itself is revealing the prerequisite for its own defeat: what it fears most is the people’s non-recognition.

We reaffirm the agreed strategy for victory: We do not recognize the legitimacy of this regime and work together to strengthen the policy of non-recognition both inside and outside the country.

After the defeat of the Ivanishvili regime, the country will have a democratic, coalition government that will repeal all repressive laws,” reads the statement.
