Another opposition politician, Givi Targamadze, summoned for questioning by State Security Service

Another opposition politician, Givi Targamadze, has been summoned for questioning as part of the investigation launched by the State Security Service.

It is unknown whether he will come to the agency to answer questions or be questioned before a magistrate judge.

The State Security Service, however, says that it is impossible to contact him.

"It is impossible to contact Givi Targamadze, his phone is switched off, and we hope that he will learn from the media or be informed that he has been summoned to the State Security Service regarding a statement he made. As for the grounds for the summoning, he can see the statement that the Security Service has already made during the day," the State Security Service said.

For information, Givi Targamadze, Tina Khidasheli, Gubaz Sanikidze and Giorgi Kandelaki have been summoned for questioning as part of an investigation ongoing under Article 319 of the Criminal Code, which involves assisting a foreign country, a foreign organization or an organization under foreign control in hostile activities.
