Police detained 4 minors on charges of group robbery and theft, based on court orders issued at different times.

According to the agency, three of the detained individuals have prior convictions and are currently serving suspended sentences.

“Employees of the Main Division for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 4 minors on charges of group robbery and theft, based on court orders issued at different times.

Investigative actions conducted in the case established that the minors, acting in prior agreement and as a group, with the intent of unlawful appropriation, stole products of various values from grocery stores and pharmacy chains located in Tbilisi and fled the scene.

As a result of the criminal acts committed by the minors, various retail facilities suffered financial damage of up to 30,000 GEL.

Within the framework of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement officers seized dozens of surveillance camera recordings from retail facilities, which confirm the criminal acts of the accused.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions conducted, police detained all four minors as accused.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing under Articles 178 Part 2, Part 3 and 177 Part 2, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, which provide for up to 8 years of imprisonment,” - the information states.
