Within the framework of the investigation launched by the State Security Service (SSS), the questioning of former Minister of Defense Tina Khidasheli is ongoing at Tbilisi City Court.
At this very moment at Tbilisi City Court, Giorgi Kandelaki, a member of the “Soviet Past Research Laboratory,” is also giving testimony before a magistrate judge.
Yesterday, within the same SSS-initiated investigation, opposition politician Gubaz Sanikidze was questioned before a magistrate judge at Tbilisi City Court.
For information: Givi Targamadze, Tina Khidasheli, Gubaz Sanikidze, and Giorgi Kandelaki have been summoned for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation under Article 319 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to assistance to a foreign country, a foreign organization, or an organization subordinated to foreign control in hostile activities.
The SSS investigators are likely questioning them about public statements they made, which concerned “the increase of Iranian influence in Georgia.”
