Shalva Papuashvili - I would like to tell Peter Fischer not to make the Georgian people, especially the Georgian Dream and its voters an object of contempt - he destroyed the 30-year-old close partnership between Georgia and Germany in 3 years

This scene had a certain German aesthetic. When people were fleeing from East Berlin to West Berlin, they were secretly transported, we have probably seen such scenes, - this is how the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, answered the journalists' question, referring to the report prepared by "Imedis Kvira" about the meeting between German Ambassador Peter Fischer and the Executive Director of Georgian European Orbit, Nino Lomjaria, according to which "Nino Lomjaria left the embassy building by a diplomatic car, without answering the media's questions".

In addition, as Papuashvili noted, "it is regrettable that Peter Fischer destroyed the 30-year-old close partnership between Georgia and Germany in three years".

“This scene had a certain German aesthetic. When they were fleeing from East Berlin to West Berlin, they were secretly transported, we have probably seen such scenes. So, a certain German aesthetic is felt in this. We see Mr. Peter's positions regarding Georgia, we know Nino Lomjaria's positions regarding her homeland, and by comparing this information, I have certain suspicions. We see an attitude towards the Georgian people from Mr. Peter. I do not know why he has such an attitude, a certain contempt for the Georgian Dream and its voters. I would like to tell Mr. Peter that he should not make the Georgian people, especially the Georgian Dream, its voters, an object of contempt. We do not think that it is right to imagine Georgia, its population, its government as an object of contempt. Unfortunately, this contempt is very clearly visible in his positions, in his statements, which is quite grave. Against the backdrop of the partnership that existed between Georgia and Germany, today we have a person who represents Germany and who directly shows us, in fact, on a personal level, his contemptuous position towards the Georgian Dream, the government, its voters. He constantly appeals to a theoretical, imaginary Georgia, which meets him every day and thanks him, and this is what he should calm himself down with.

It is not right to make Georgia, the Georgian people, its government an object of contempt, this is not European behavior, a European approach. This is not the German approach of recent decades, to sow contempt in another society. We are dealing with a sad event. However, in the case of Mr. Peter, I think that this is already a hopeless case. We can only wait for June, when he leaves Georgia. I hope that the next person who arrives will take all this into account. It is unfortunate that this person destroyed the 30-year-old close partnership between Georgia and Germany in three years," Papuashvili said.
