Nikol Pashinyan - One of the biggest obstacles on the path of Armenia's integration into the European Union is the frozen political dialogue between the European Union and Georgia - our request is for a constructive process to develop between the European Union and Georgia

Many in Armenia are asking the question: when will Armenia become a member of the European Union? Our answer is very clear: no country can become a member of the European Union without meeting its standards, - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in his speech delivered in to the European Parliament.

“Therefore, our task is to continue the path of reforms with the support of our European partners and first of all objectively meet the EU membership criteria,” - the Armenian Prime Minister noted.

According to him, one of the biggest obstacles on the path of Armenia’s integration into the EU at this stage is the frozen state of the political dialogue between the EU and Georgia.

"Georgia is for us a path to the European Union, and we adopted the law on the start of the process of accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union after Georgia received the candidate status from the European Union. This has made the prospect of Armenia's accession to the European Union tangible, and it is our expectation and request that a constructive process between the European Union and Georgia develop. This is as important for Armenia as it is for Georgia," the Prime Minister of Armenia noted.
