Levan Makhashvili on the debates in the European Parliament: They are trying to sculpt a tortured Joan of Arc out of Elene Khoshtaria, a person who receives funding from Russia - such mockery of society and the state is simply unimaginable

They are trying to sculpt a tortured Joan of Arc out of Elene Khoshtaria, a person who receives funding from Russia - such mockery of society and the state is simply unimaginable, - stated Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the Parliament's Committee on European Integration, while commenting on the debates held in the European Parliament.

According to him, during the debates we heard encouragement for those people who are fighting against state institutions.

"Society has heard what it has been hearing throughout this entire period. The forces inside the country that oppose dialogue have their supporters outside the country. There was complete ignoring of the state, sovereignty, the choice of the people, elections, parliament - everything that constitutes a state. We heard encouragement for those people who are fighting against state institutions. They themselves admit that they are guilty in this or that matter, and yet they are trying to turn Elene Khoshtaria - a person who receives funding from Russia - into a tortured Joan of Arc. Such mockery of society and the state is simply unimaginable," - stated Makhashvili.
