Gigi Tsereteli on the "Moscow Mechanism" report: If "Georgian Dream" does not take into account in this dramatic moment what decisions need to be made and if this is not in line with the demands, the result will be negative and will affect every citizen

The invocation of such a mechanism happens only in countries where there are grave violations of democracy and human rights - this was stated by Gigi Tsereteli, leader of "European Georgia."

According to him, this conclusion would be grave for any country.

"This conclusion would be grave for any country to accept. I think that for that part of Georgian society which understands what the country's future should be like - and this situation is unbearable, Georgia is losing its rightful place in the world and heading down a path that leads to the small group of Russia or undemocratic countries - this is a catastrophic perspective.

Everyone clearly understands that the invocation of such a mechanism occurs only in countries with grave violations of democracy and human rights, and Georgia has precisely ended up in the ranks of those countries. All attempts to downplay the conclusion, or to say that it is biased and that only 24 countries agreed to activate this mechanism, are fully in line with the responses of undemocratic countries like Belarus or Russia. Such an attitude is counterproductive and will lead to even heavier consequences for the country, whether individual sanctions or sanctions from individual countries.

If the 'Georgian Dream' government does not take into account in this dramatic moment what decisions need to be made and if this is not in line with the existing demands, the result will be negative and this will affect every single citizen.

As for the Hague court, it has its own specifics, but the 'Moscow Mechanism' conclusion has created a major foundation. Every citizen experiences the pain of our country receiving such assessments. Today, Armenia has great success and its prime minister receives standing ovations in the same hall, while toward Georgia's de facto government, such epithets are used - this is painful. This requires a solution, and it is precisely for this reason that a large part of society is настро for changes, and only a peaceful and democratic change will be the foundation for Georgia's development," Gigi Tsereteli stated.
