According to the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of Georgia, a foot procession from the Patriarchate to the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral will begin at 16:00, during which His Holiness Ilia II will be transferred to the Cathedral.

“Today, March 18, 2026, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Abkhazia, will be transferred from the Patriarchal residence to the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral. The foot procession will begin at 16:00,” the statement reads.

For reference, the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia, His Holiness Ilia II, passed away at the age of 93.
