Civil funeral service for Patriarch Ilia II continues at Trinity Cathedral
A civil funeral service continues at the Trinity Cathedral to pay tribute to Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.
His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, Ilia II was laid to rest yesterday at the Trinity Cathedral.
According to the Patriarchate, the Trinity Patriarchate Cathedral will be open 24 hours a day to pay tribute to Ilia II.
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, died at the age of 93. A national day of mourning has been declared in Georgia in connection with the death of Ilia II. The Patriarch will be buried on Sunday, March 22, at the Sioni Cathedral.
