Speculation has begun that Elene Khoshtaria is a political prisoner, a mother of four children, etc. - her four children should ask for an answer from their mother - Irakli Kadagishvili, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on regional policy and self-government, told journalists.
According to him, Khoshtaria has “committed many violations of the law on purpose”.
“In Georgia, we have a classic experience of how so-called pseudo-political prisoners are created. This person has a political party, received certain votes in the elections, became a member of parliament, did not like the results, said that the elections were “rigged”. She did not present any evidence to prove this, and an externally orchestrated attack against the state began. The attack is expressed in the non-recognition of the elections, neglect of the elections and attacks on state institutions. All this was happening against the background of full media coverage.
The plotters of this scenario have two unwinnable games: if the state shows incompetence and does not respond to such anarchy by law, then this state will collapse and such forces will come to power without any elections, and they themselves will hold elections as they wish. We saw such elections in 2003, when suddenly a 17% party became 90%. We have been through all this well. Therefore, if the state protects the choice of the people and democracy, then it will have to hold such anarchist elements accountable. Then, speculation begins that this person is a political prisoner, a mother of four children, etc. The person has committed many violations of the law on purpose and says that she is doing this on purpose. Despite the fact that the law is humane and offers a way out - not to be in prison, the task of her and her patrons is to keep such a person hostage in order to have a basis for a new attack against Georgia. Sorry, her four children should ask for an answer from their mother,” said Kadagishvili.
For information, the court found Elene Khoshtaria, the politician and leader of Droa, accused of damaging Kakha Kaladze’s election banner, guilty. The decision was made by Tbilisi City Court judge Giorgi Arevadze. Elene Khoshtaria was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. Accordingly, Khoshtaria will leave the penitentiary in 1 year.
