At the Sioni Cathedral, where the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, is buried, clergy are holding memorial services accompanied by chanters, which will continue for 40 days.

As reported, the faithful can enter the cathedral and pay their respects at the Patriarch’s grave daily from 08:00 to 22:00. In addition, religious services are held daily in the cathedral.

For context, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II passed away on March 17. From March 18, his public lying-in-state was held at the Holy Trinity (Sameba) Cathedral, where thousands of citizens paid their respects.

Ilia II was buried on March 22 at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral.
