Kakha Kaladze: The attack on the Church didn’t start yesterday - we have seen it over the past years - and society knows very well where it comes from and on whose orders

“The attack on the Church didn’t start yesterday. We have seen over the past years that a targeted attack has been underway, an attempt to discredit the Church, and what kind of attacks were directed against the Patriarch,” said Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of “Georgian Dream” and Mayor of Tbilisi, speaking to journalists.

He added that the public can very easily assess which political group serves what interests.

"The attack on the Church didn’t start yesterday. We have seen over the past years that a targeted attack has been underway, an attempt to discredit the Church, and what kind of attacks were directed against the Patriarch. We all remember everything very well. Society also knows very well where this comes from, on whose orders, and how these processes are organized. Therefore, I think all questions that existed in society have already been answered. Everyone has clearly seen who is who, and today the majority of our country’s population can very easily assess which political group serves whom and what interests," Kaladze said.
