Irakli Kadagishvili - A month ago, there was a parliamentary delegation to the US, and it was said then that there would be certain contacts in March - we see that the process is underway and the conversation between the Secretary of State and the Prime Minister is a logical continuation of this

We have expressed our full readiness to restart Georgia-US relations from a clean slate - the communication between Marco Rubio and Irakli Kobakhidze allows this rather protracted process to continue more dynamically, meaningfully and intensively, - Irakli Kadagishvili, Chairman of the Parliament's Committee on Regional Policy and Self-Government, told journalists.

According to him, "every contact serves the purpose of ultimately resetting relations in reality."

"It is well known to the public and the American side that we have expressed our full readiness to renew the Georgia-United States relations from a clean slate, to raise strategic cooperation to a truly high level, and to have a mutually beneficial relationship. This call and communication allow this rather protracted process to continue more dynamically, meaningfully, and intensively.

Every contact serves the purpose of ultimately realizing the reset of relations. As you know, about a month ago, a parliamentary delegation arrived in the United States. The delegation had meetings at the State Department, the Security Council, the White House, the War Department, and everywhere, of course, the importance of renewing relations and raising them to a new level was emphasized. It was said then that there would be certain contacts in March that would serve to reset these relations. We see that this process is underway and the conversation between the Prime Ministers and the Secretary of State is a logical continuation of this and I think it gives a greater impetus for the future. In general, of course, we should consider everything in the context that the geopolitical situation is relevant, which once again demonstrates the need for Georgia as a stable and responsible country in international relations,” Kadagishvili said.

For information, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to information released by the Department of State, “Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Georgia Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze today. They discussed areas of mutual interest including security in the Caucasus and Black Sea region.”
