Department of Environmental Supervision: No violations found following inspection of the stray animal shelter in Gori

According to the Department of Environmental Supervision, no violations were identified at the stray animal shelter in Gori.

The agency reports that an incinerator has been installed on the territory owned by the Shida Kartli Inter-Municipal Agency for the Management of Stray Domestic Animals.

According to the department, it was established that, in compliance with the conditions of the environmental decision, the incinerator is used to incinerate waste generated from veterinary services and related examinations carried out at the shelter, as well as for the disposal of deceased animals, in order to prevent the spread of infections.

“Based on information disseminated on social media, employees of the Shida Kartli Regional Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture thoroughly inspected the territory of the stray animal shelter operated by the LEPL Shida Kartli Inter-Municipal Agency for the Management of Stray Domestic Animals in Gori.

As a result of the inspection, no violations were found.

It was established that an incinerator is installed on the territory owned by the agency, and its operation is authorized by an environmental decision issued under Order No. 98/ს dated March 4, 2025, by the Head of the National Environmental Agency,” the statement reads.
