Tekla Gersamia, whom the jury found guilty of murdering her husband, was sentenced by the judge to 20 years in prison

25-year-old TikToker Tekla Gersamia, who was arrested on charges of murdering her husband, Luka Daraselia, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

This decision was made by Tbilisi City Court judge Nino Nachkebia after the jury found Gersamia guilty of intentional murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances.

All 12 jurors unanimously delivered a guilty verdict within the first 4 hours.

Tekla Gersamia does not admit guilt. The defense argued that Luka Daraselia died by suicide, but the jury did not accept this version and found the young woman guilty of intentionally killing her husband.

For reference, the murder took place in Tbilisi on August 22.

Tekla Gersamia was charged under Article 11 Prima and Article 109, subparagraph “k” of the Criminal Code, which refers to intentional murder committed against a family member under aggravating circumstances.

The crime carries a sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
