Bidzina Ivanishvili hosts Ilham Aliyev at his business center

The founder and honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, hosted the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Azerbaijani delegation at the business cente, the Georgian Dream reports.

According to the press service, Bidzina Ivanishvili thanked Ilham Aliyev for the “fruitful visit” to Georgia and noted that the friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are at the highest level, which is beneficial for both countries.”

The honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream emphasized “the importance of deep and comprehensive economic relations between the two countries, the potential of maximizing the use of the transit corridor, and noted that close partnership overall serves the national interests of both Georgia and Azerbaijan equally.”

"Bidzina Ivanishvili thanked Ilham Aliyev for his support for the calm and stable situation in the South Caucasus region, and also noted that in an environment full of security challenges, it is vital that the political leaders of the two countries make maximum efforts to maintain peace and economic development.

The meeting focused on close partnership in the energy sector and transport and energy projects that Georgia and Azerbaijan are jointly implementing. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which plays a key role in ensuring regional connections, was mentioned. Bidzina Ivanishvili noted that Georgia remains open to Azerbaijani investments, which have been actively growing in recent years," the press service said in a statement.

According to the party's press service, the meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, the Head of the Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataridze.
