Today, the Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. According to the Gospel, on this day the Archangel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would give birth to Jesus Christ. For the Orthodox Church, the Annunciation marks the beginning of humanity’s salvation and the revelation of God’s hidden mystery.
