We are ready to step by step discuss with our American partners all the issues that hinder the restoration of our relations - whoever they are, we will not concede anything to anyone at the expense of Georgia's interests, - Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili told journalists.
According to him, the Georgian side's desire is to start a new chapter in strategic relations with the United States.
Sharmanashvili says he has no information about when the American delegation will visit Georgia.
"I don't know when they will arrive. I don't know what their composition is either. The goal is, as Rubio said-, that a lot of things have gone wrong and we need to re-examine all the issues that are hindering our relations - this is the main task on their part and we are ready. When they arrive, we will go through all the issues in detail. We are ready to go through all the issues with our American partners step by step that are hindering the restoration of our relations. We want to start a new page in strategic relations, go into more serious depths, in such a way that the responsibilities and wishes of all parties are taken into account.
We generally say that we are ready to strengthen bilateral relations, we are ready to take into account the interests of both sides, but neither side will announce in advance what steps it will take, what concessions it will and will not make. The main thing is that one thing will be unwavering - no matter who asks us, no matter what we deal with, no matter who it is, will not give anything to anyone at the expense of the interests of Georgia," Sharmanashvili said.
For information, according to Levan Makhashvili, the chairman of the Parliament's European Integration Committee, a group from the United States will arrive in Georgia in April to study the ongoing processes in Georgia. As Makhashvili told journalists, the Georgian government is trying to restore relations with each meeting with the American side.
